These days it seems like everyone is trying to get further apart and to split away from each other โ just turn on the news with wars, Brexit or building walls. It all seems a little strange when we're all facing the same global challenges right now with COVID, global warming, and health.
It confuses me even more in the health and fitness industry where we all have the common goal of helping people to become fitter and healthier โ yet more, and more there is siloed thinking! With the "Iโm personal trainer", "Iโm a CrossFitter", "I do group exercise". Often, this is where it begins โ people become so focused on one aspect that they are unable to appreciate others.
I think now is the time to change this and open our minds โ just because you identify with one brand or style does not mean there is no space for others. I love strength work and thatโs my bag, but it doesnโt mean I donโt appreciate other forms of exercise. Even if they are not my thing, they may be my clientโs thing! Letโs learn to appreciate the whole spectrum of health and fitness โ after all it is the client that comes first! What do they want? What will work best for them right now?
I started off wholly as a group fitness lover, but over time I have morphed and moved more and more online, Hey! Donโt get me wrong, I still love Group Ex! I just couldnโt help as many people as I wanted โ so I adapted.
Now, I help more people than ever and offer them 100โs of different programs that suit them (not what suits me).
1ยผ cups / 300 ml water
ยฝ cup / 40 g dry rolled oats
ยฝ cup / 120 ml unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop Chocolate Shakeologyโฏ
1 tsp. all-natural peanut butter
How to make it...
Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add oats; mix well. Reduce heat to low. Gently boil, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until thick and soft.
Add almond milk, Shakeology, and peanut butter; stir until combined.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
