CHOOSE LIFE. CHOOSE A CAREER. CHOOSE YOU.
Gut health is receiving so much attention because of the multiple positive outcomes of a healthy gut. We've created this simple, free, course as an introduction to improving your gut health journey starting today!
I get a lot of questions about my approach to Nutrition & diet; these are most often things like...
Do you eat meat?
Do you eat bread?
Do you take supplements?
Do you use intermittent fasting?
Are you gluten-free, vegan, paleo, vegetarian, or pescatarian?
The list goes on; it seems so complicated when the thing is, although I know the science, the guidelines and the theories. At the end of the day, I do what works for me. On some days, I fast, and on others, I don't; I eat different foods at different times depending on what is in season and what foods I can readily access.
The foundation is that I focus on the quantity of food (and drink!) I eat first and foremost — because no matter how good the food you choose, you can always overeat.
Next, I ensure the food quality is high; by this, I mean I aim to eat a broad range of whole foods with as little processing as possible (either during the growing or the production/packaging process). Simply put, the Fresher the food, the more nutrient-dense, so I get more bang for my buck.
Finally, to ensure I get a variety of food every day, my maxim is to try and "eat a rainbow" every day.
Regarding timing my food, I do what fits in with my life. This practice fits with my overall philosophy, which is about making my routines as easy for me as possible. The more straightforward and less intrusive they are, the more likely I will stick to them!
